Key Achievements

Since its formation on 20th May 1984, AZAKE has achieved a lot with the support of membership and its friends. The Zambian Embassy, whose head is the patron/matron of AZAKE has been part of the achievements by supporting the association in various ways notably the opening of its doors and allowing AZAKE to hold functions at the Embassy. Below is but a few selected of the notable achievements.

Contribution to Dual Citizenship and Diaspora Policy Issues in Zambia

Via its Think Tank and Mentorship initiative, AZAKE directly and positively influenced two key developments back home in Zambia as it relates to the interests of the Zambians in diaspora. The two issues relate to the initiation and successful conclusion of the dual citizenship in Zambia. Indeed, today Zambia is actively implementing the dual citizenship programme thereby allowing Zambian diaspora to freely seek additional citizenship. As regards the diaspora policy development, AZAKE is pleased to have been featured in the plenary discussions during its indaba (national forum) thereby directly contributing and positively its development.

The ongoing ZIMAZA Annual Games

As one of the tripartite ZIMAZA Annual Games, the very fact that ZIMAZA continues to grow year-after-year since its inception a decade ago, is in itself a major achievement. This is because ZIMAZA remains the flagship event of AZAKE which provides its membership to interact ‘beyond’ Zambia via the social quasi-competitive ZIMAZA games. The increasing number of participants and sponsorships testimony of the remarkable ZIMAZA for which AZAKE remains a key role player.

AZAKE has a huge potential to achieve much-much more. For this to happen, AZAKE need your hand either as a member or a well-wisher by supporting the association with your membership fees, donations, knowledge/wisdom, time, etc.
